Guitar Hero: World Tour - it gets worse
Oct 28th, 2008 by Candice
Instruments-wise, anyway.
My strum bar on my guitar, that squeaks? It now doesn’t recognize a downward strum. This was about a half hour into my 2nd session, so the strum bar was fully functional for about two and a half hours. Awesome. Nice bang for your buck there.
It died slowly — I thought my timing was just off but once I went into the red I tried an upward strum and it worked. So I picked like a bassist for a bit but it’s alien to me, so I tried the tappity-tap thing on the touch strip. I had to alternate between upward strumming and tap strumming for 3 songs since I had just started a 4-song set. I did crappy of course.
Frickin Neversoft. Their name says it all. I wouldn’t be surprised if I never bought a Guitar Hero game again.
At least, if I keep this damn guitar, I think I can learn to use the palm button with the heel of my hand while still keeping my hand on the whammy bar.
I’m seriously considering returning the whole damn set & game for a refund tho, I don’t need these damn headaches, I play games to FORGET my frustrations not accumulate new ones. I can just rent GH:WT or borrow it from Sam at some point to get the achievements. I’m certainly not buying any downloadable content (DLC) - they don’t deserve any more money from me. The only thing left to stop working is the microphone, which I haven’t unwrapped yet. Be f’in hilarious if somehow it didn’t work either.

I’d say return it, and send the company a comment/feedback card! Who knows, maybe if you put enough detail into it, they may send you something in return.
I contacted their customer support and their customer support is as atrocious as their instruments. Thankfully I don’t have to deal with them, just FutureShop.
I don’t like the way the game itself plays… rock band is so much more cleaner and professional looking… and organized… we haven’t tried the drumset yet, but if it doesn’t work we’re taking it back and just getting the new rockband instruments then.
