all I can say is that my life is pretty plain

I’m so happy with Sportsnet - broadcasting exhibition games of the Canucks, that is awesome. Yay for the Canucks winning the first 2 games even though they don’t count towards anything. Hockey season is here and I’m ecstatic.
I’m just wondering where in the world I’m going to find time to watch the hockey games as well as play all of my (current and upcoming) videogames… I’m still majorly addicted to Spore and have been playing a lot of Rock Band 2.
Rock Band 2 is great of course, how could it not be, it’s just building upon the first one - it’s not really a new game, it’s the same game with new songs and a few new features.
One of the new features is a No Fail option, which, as you can guess, allows you to continue playing regardless of how well you’re doing. Your progress is still tracked however, so you will still know when you would have normally died. I think this is a good feature for people learning to play the game and progressing to harder difficulties - if you always die during the tough parts, how are you to learn the tough parts? It’s all just practice and getting used to the speed, moving your fingers, and learning the songs themselves. Obviously it’s more fun to get that necessary practice by playing a song instead of having to go to the actual practice mode. Also it helps that you don’t have to be embarrassed for failing on your other bandmates.
Also new is a Drum Trainer which allows you to practice drum beats at your chosen speed - no dying, no resetting, it just continues until you change the beat, change the speed or quit. Quite cool to learn trickier beats and I’m sure will help me once I put more time into it, but it’s actually missing one of the beats that I have problems with. What can you do, right.
Right now I’m just waiting until I can get the new Rock Band 2 instruments - being the drum set and the guitar (who cares about the mic, I actually want to get my own USB headset to use instead). They will be my first wireless instruments so that’ll be nice, get rid of my cords everywhere.
On to other things…
If you like cats and you’re local to BC and especially the lower mainland, I’d like to bring Forgotten Felines to your attention - it’s a feline shelter in Delta that does some pretty amazing things. Aside from the regular expectations of housing unwanted cats and simply not killing cats they can’t adopt out, they capture feral cats, spay or neuter them, treat them (worms, fleas, etc), and also offer an AIDS program that matches HIV humans with FIV cats! I didn’t even know cats could have an HIV equivalent virus. Anyway, I find their whole purpose to be incredibly admirable so I hope you will consider helping them as they’re completely run by donations. Truly the major problem is irresponsible cat owners which is a sad thing. Animals are completely innocent and humans are just horrible stewards for this planet.
From that cheery thought to the weather… Fall seemed to show up exactly when it’s supposed to - we had very nice weather for mid-September and now we’re back to seasonal temperatures which is a bummer in my opinion. =) I don’t like cold, I don’t like rain and I don’t like snow… the only good thing about winter is hockey and TV shows! Today was the first day I turned on my heat since the spring.
Now if I could only afford Canucks season tickets! I’d be in heaven.

Wow that’s a pretty cool cat shelter there. I’m so glad there are people out there who dedicate their time to doing such things.
You turned on the HEAT?! What temp is it there… It’s still in the high 80s here
It’s raining and coollddd at night here now. Like.. maybe in the 50s or so? Ick. We had to turn on the heat the last couple of days too.
It’s like 12 - 14 degrees these days… I’m now wearing a sweater and my light jacket outside as opposed to just a sweater not too long ago.
