ahh, lazy day
Jul 27th, 2008 by Candice
I’m burned out. I finally got into ‘uh oh’ buckle-down mode and did some serious job searching and applied for a handful of jobs that I had enough interest in. Location was a big factor - I don’t want to take a bus to work, so ideally my next job will be only a skytrain ride away. I ended up with 5 interviews in 4 days last week, and am waiting on 3 companies to get back to me by “early” this week with their decision… so obviously I’m hoping for 3 offers and then I get to pick the one I want. =P
I already know in which order I’d choose of the 3. One job I SUPER DUPER UBERLY WANT (job - awesome; location - awesome; wage - comfortable), so send good thoughts my way. If the other 2 jobs respond before the one I’m hoping for, I’ll ask if I can get another day or two to give them my answer.
Anyways, so I was burned out physically and mentally I think… all that getting up early, pavement pounding, and mental taxation meant I got tired real early (which helped cause then I had no difficulty getting up on time the next day).
And this weekend both days I’ve had reason to get up early, so I’m still maintaining the ‘decent’ hours which isn’t a bad thing. So tomorrow (Monday) morning I’ll be up and awake and lively for any phone calls that hopefully bear good news.
Otherwise… I haven’t been to the Celebration of Light yet, but there are still 2 shows left and I think Bart will be in town for the last one so most likely will attend that one on Saturday.
I also need to go to the KRAZY! Video Games + Art show at the Vancouver Art Gallery with Steven sometime soon. It also encompasses anime and comics, but I only care about the videogames part of course. =)
I saw Dark Knight, it was very good (in case you’re part of the 2% of the population that hasn’t seen it). Wanted was entertaining, but not special (basically all the big scenes are in the trailers - that’s always annoying). Saw half of Hellboy II and it didn’t impress me enough to care about missing the latter half, lol. I want to see Tropic Thunder and wouldn’t mind seeing Step Brothers, but I could definitely wait to rent it. I can’t think of any other upcoming movies right now.
The BC Lions have gotten their act together and now have a winning record, 3-2 so far. I want to go to at least one game this year and I’ll watch as many as I can on TV.
I’ve been watching a lot of Blue Jays baseball this summer, seeing as I’ve had a lot of time on my hands. I don’t think I’ve paid this much attention to them since I last lived with my Dad. I definitely know more about pro baseball than I ever have before.
I can’t wait till hockey starts! Hopefully Mats Sundin will make a damn decision soon so we can all stop waiting with bated breath. I don’t care that much either way if he signs or not - if he signs, obviously the Canucks will be an improved team but $20 million is quite the price tag. If he doesn’t, I’m still happy with the players brought in so far to add to our offense and we’re not spending extravagant amounts of money on them.
Aside from hockey to look forward to this fall, Rock Band 2 comes out in September and Guitar Hero: World Tour releases in October I think. Hells yeah. Here’s hoping I’ll have started earning an income within the next few weeks to pay for these and other games. =D

hugs - it will work out.
You got the awesome job and you haven’t even blogged about it yet?! Hurry up and blog before you get bogged down with your new job, sucka!
I’ll blog on Vox within a day or two - don’t want to share too many things on the public site. ‘Sides, there’s not much to blog about yet as I haven’t even started. =) So probably tomorrow.
You’re the one posting vague blogs with no information. =P
Really? I was hoping Hell Boy would be good. I wanna see it.
